Here is how it works:
01. Initial Questionnaire and Assessment
The initial questionnaire will ask about your sport background, goals, and how much time you have to train per week. After completing it, you will receive an app invite with an assessment to film and complete.
02. Video Call Consultation
This is where we meet to discuss your sport background and handstand goals in more depth, along with some feedback on the assessment you submitted. Bring any questions you may have and get to know me as well. After this, I will send you your individualized programming.
03. Feedback with Weekly Video Check-ins
In the app, you will see each exercise I give you with a demo video. You will film your workout through the app and with it submit any questions that come up. I will provide feedback and coaching notes in the weekly video check-ins and your training will progressively be adjusted each week aimed at reaching your goals and catered to your strengths and weaknesses. Any necessary adjustments to the program are included in the membership, and as you progress, the program will adjust with you.

Coach Chala is the founder of MINDFUL SOMATICS™, a health focused handstand, strength and mobility training combining goal and skill orientated athletic movements with conscious somatic techniques to reconnect to your body as a whole being and unlock new, pain-free strength and dream skills.
Chala’s approach to coaching and training, whether it's handstands, gymnastics, CrossFit or strength conditioning, is not just physical, but also connecting to your mind and body from the ground up and learning to listen to its needs to know when it can be taken to new levels. Through online coaching or in-person training, Chala teaches how we can become teammates with our body and together reaching new highs and goals in your training.
Coach Chala is a free spirit originally from Montana, USA. Growing up as a competitive gymnast, she quit the performative aspect of the sport due to injuries. This experience of destructive training made her passionate about creating her own health focused training program now known as Mindful Somatics™. She continued coaching it for the last 13 years, from beginner to optional level teams, as well as hosting gymnastic and handstand workshops at Fitness- and CrossFit and Yoga gyms all over the U.S. and Europe.

No! Every program is fully customized to your needs and goals. Many of my clients have multiple goals—whether it's improving mobility, building strength, or learning calisthenic skills like pull-ups or toes-to-bar. I design your workouts and programming to target your specific goals efficiently and effectively.

No! Handstands do require strength, mobility, and coordination, but you don’t need to have these skills beforehand—that’s what we will build together. As your coach, I’ll assess your current abilities and create a personalized program to develop the strength and mobility you need to progress safely and effectively.

Absolutely! Many of my clients are yoga instructors, and going through this process yourself is the best way to learn. You’ll gain handstand drills and techniques that you can integrate into your own teaching—whether in online or in-person classes. Plus, as your coach, I’m here to answer any questions you have about your own students’ progress.

If you’re under 18, a parent or guardian will need to be involved and sign off, but otherwise—there’s no age limit! I’ve worked with adults of all ages, and in fact, I encourage older individuals to start this kind of training. Handstands and gymnastics-based movements help improve mobility, coordination, agility, and strength, which are essential for lifelong movement health. Every exercise is scalable and tailored to be safe and effective for you.
